 KHIRSU, is a small village nestled in between picturesque hilly terrain in the Pauri district of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. If you are in the Pauri - Garhwal region and one who craves for serenity and peace, you would love to be there. Last night we were in Lansdowne, a census town of British Raj, still carrying the legacy forward. In the morning just before checking out from the hotel, we visited the 'Tiffin Top view point'. The mountain range viewed from there under the clearest of skies was a prelude of what to expect the entire day. We were out for Khirsu after having breakfast. ROUTE To KHIRSU The blissful few hours of journey enroute Khirsu is worth mentioning. The roads were narrow but well maintained bituminous tracks, taking turns and corners through small villages and sloping forests. The roads were deserted with hardly any tourist vehicles seen during most of the journey. You can just stopover at any place, have a break, probalby pick up some Oranges...

| চটকপুর | ´উঠলো বাই, তো দার্জিলিং যাই`- ভ্রমনসুখী বাঙালিদের কাছে প্রবাদ টা বহুদিন আগেই পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে | কাজের সূত্র ব্যতিতে কে আর আজকাল কটক যায় বলুন | কৌতূহলি বাঙালিরা আবার 'Offbeat' পাহাড় এর প্রতি একটা আলাদা আকর্ষণ অনুভব করেন | নির্জন পাহাড়ি গ্রাম বা দূরের অজানা কোনো উঠতি জনপদ পেলে তো আর কথাই নেই | অমনি 'হে হে, রে রে ' করে মুড়ি, চিড়ে, বাতাসা, মাফলার, হনুমান টুপি পোটলা বন্দি করে বেড়িয়ে পড়ে | এ বিষয়ে, যে যাই বলুক, আমরা বাঙালিরা 'এগিয়ে থাকি, এগিয়ে রাখি '| যাইহোক, যে কথাটা বলছিলাম; NJP বা শিলিগুড়ি থেকে যখন দার্জিলিং ই যাবেন, তখন মাঝপথে একটা রাত থেকেই যেতে পারেন চটকপুর এ | `চটকপুর´ নামটা আজ খুব একটা অচেনা নয় | 'সোনাদা' হয়ে দার্জিলিং যাওয়ার সময় ডানদিকে বেঁকে গেলে চড়াইপথে আরও 7 কিমি দূরে চটকপুর গ্রাম | যারা কালিম্পঙ বা তিনচুলে কিংবা লামাহাট্টা ঘুরে এখানে আসতে চান তাঁদের 'তিন মাইল ' থেকে বামদিকে বেঁকে গেলেই হবে | আমরা অবশ্য আমাদের সফরের শেষদিনে দার্জিলিং থেকে নামার সময় এক রাত চটকপুর এ কাটিয়ে ছিলাম| সোনাদা থেকে বেশ চড়াই রাস্তাটা কিছুক্ষন পরে হারিয়ে যায়...

 The search for a two hours drive from Bagdogra airport lead us to this beautiful hamlet 'Bungkulung'. Amidst the turbulent time of State Election in Bengal we dared to venture out for a leisure trip and what would be more convenient than a quick plan to land in North Bengal,our very own. Our arrival to Bagdogra was late in the afternoon, so I was looking for a place that would not be too far. Bungkulung proved to be that perfect place what we were craving for. From Bagdogra it took little more than two hours when we took the route via 'Dudhia'. Bungkulung appeared to be a sweet, serene, desolate village nestled in between Kurseong in the east and Mirik in the west. One could not miss the  glittering lights from Kurseong town dominating the night sky from here. The village, it seemed, quite spread out one across the valley while taking gradual slope towards the 'Balason' river bed. একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারী ,2021 'চেস্ট ড্রেন টা এইভাবে কেন দিচ্ছিস? 3rd ইয়ার হয়ে গেলি কিচ্ছু শিখলি না'....PICU র ভেতর থেকে বিরক্তিস্বর ভেসে আসছে সত্য দার গলা থেকে | HDU তে কল্যাণ স্যার এর সাথে রাউন্ড এ থাকা নতুন ফার্স্ট ইয়ার ছেলেটা কাঁচের দেওয়ালের ওপারে তাকিয়েই মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে মুষড়ে পড়ে |কল্যাণ স্যার এর অভিজ্ঞ দৃষ্টিকে ফাঁকি দিতে না পেরে ছেলেটি বলে ওঠে 'না না স্যার ও কিছু  না '| পাশে থাকা উজ্জ্বল দা সভাবসিদ্ধ ভঙ্গিতে বলে ওঠে 'Welcome to MC Hub'| ফার্স্ট ইয়ার এর ছেলেটি কখন হোঁচট খেতে খেতে, বকা খেতে খেতে তিন তিনটি বছর পেরিয়ে যায় বুঝতে পারে না | কখন 'MC Hell' তার কাছে 'MC Heart' এ রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে সেটা ঠিক বুঝে ওঠার আগেই পাত-তারি গোটানোর পালা চলে আসে | পয়লা জানুয়ারী র নাটক, নতুন 1st ইয়ার এর ছেলেদের চাপে রাখা বা মেয়েদের চোখে চোখে রাখা!, কল্যাণ স্যার,কল্পনা ম্যাডাম দের class এর জন্যে মুখিয়ে থাকা, প্রথম সেন্ট্রাল লাইন এর গ্রান্ড ফিস্ট কিংবা ছোট্ট ঘুপছি ঘরে বসে বন্ধুদের জন্মদিনে কেক কাটা- জীবনের শত ব্যস্ততাতেও বুকের কোনে সযত্নে গোচ্ছিতো থাকে ফেলে আসা...
